Privacy policy
Our reporting is free to read without registration. The only reader data we work with is aggregate traffic, and the sources of it are disclosed here as plainly as we disclose sources in a story.
Scope
The site has no subscriptions, newsletter sign-up, comments or payments, so it holds no reader accounts. It does not sell personal data. Correspondence sent to our addresses is used to respond to the sender.
Audience measurement
We use Google Analytics 4. It sets cookies and reports to Google which pages were viewed, device and browser type, the referring source, outbound link clicks, and a location estimate that Google derives on its side. We use the aggregate to judge which coverage operators read and to direct reporting effort.
Readers can decline by blocking cookies or by installing Google's Analytics opt-out add-on. See also the Google Privacy Policy.
Infrastructure logs
Request logs kept by our hosting provider record standard fields such as timestamp, URL and user agent. They exist for security and operations.
Automated traffic
We keep a distinct record of crawler visits from search engines and AI systems, identified by user agent. It contains the bot's name, the path requested and the time. Human readers are excluded from it, and IP addresses are not written to it.
